I Heart Faces "Focusing on Angles" Challenge

This week the challenge is to focus on different angles! I immediately thought of this photo, but the credit has to go to my husband on this one!

little maya 11 days old

She was laying on my boppy nursing pillow in my lap and had just finished nursing when she started smiling the biggest smiles we had ever seen! My husband grabbed my camera and took this amazing shot!
It is one of my favorites!

I Heart Faces "Bundled Up!" Photo Challenge

Our first ever photo challenge submission...
This is about as bundled up you can get in San Francisco!
Our 2 week old baby girl Maya and her Daddy, out for a stroll in Golden Gate Park in February this year.
We call her our little polar bear in this outfit, even though there isn't any snow! :)

Grammy & Papa Silber come to visit miss Maya 5 weeks old

So mom and dad Silber came to visit this past week and got to meet Maya for the first time! They told us that they wanted to have specific names for Maya to call them so she doesn't get confused between the different sets of grandparents. So mom Silber decided she wants to be called Grammy and dad Silber decided on Papa! So sweet!
Papa and Maya (nice face silly girl)

Papa was such a natural! He just scooped her right up and walked her around with her tummy down on his forearm patting her bum, consoling her really well during her evening "fussy time"

Grammy giving kisses
there is my happy girl smiling for Grammy

just hanging out with Grammy with her little baby leggings from aunti josie
(while Grammy wrote out many crockpot recipes for me)

Grammy crocheted this sweater when she was pregnant with Jason thinking she was keeping it "gender neutral" but as you can see, it was pretty feminine! It just fit Maya perfectly! So super cute!

Grammy taught me how to crochet and actually made this sweet little hat for Maya while she was visiting! She made it in a matter of hours! So far I have only figured out the chain, single, double and triple crochet stitches! But...hopefully with some more time and practice I will be able to make some hats for Maya!

and Grammy should get the credit for composing this shot!

can you see those eye lashes? they are getting longer and longer every day!

Our little angel is 4 weeks already?!?!

At her one month check-up Maya was
weighing: 9 pounds 12 ounces and
measuring:  21.5 inches long!
That is a whole inch and a half since birth! No wonder her pants are starting to look more like capris!

The Maya facts at one month of age:
*she is as precious as she looks in her pictures
*she goes to bed between 10-11pm and sleeps for 6-7 hours and then sleeps for another 2-3 hour stretch
*She is not a good day-time sleeper, usually only taking short 1-2 hour naps throughout the day.
*She has quite a LONG nightly fussy time usually going from 7 or 8pm till bedtime at 10 or 11pm.
(I'm hoping this is just a phase since I am eventually going back to working nights)
*She is having more and more quite awake time, hanging out in her swing or under her play gym
*She sleeps tightly swaddled and we call her our little burrito
*She's a great eater and nurses every 2-3 hours during the day...more often in the evenings.
*She enjoys her baths and cries as soon as she is taken out of the warm water
*She hates her car seat and screams every time I put her into it.
*She is wearing size 1-2 diapers only because I ordered them wrong from amazon....she should be in size 1 (maybe that is why she has so many "blow-outs") the 1-2 size is just enough bigger than a 1 that it doesn't fit tightly enough on her little bum.
*she started smiling when being spoken to, especially after a diaper change
*she fights sleep so so badly... sometimes I can find the humor in it
*nicknames to date: angel, princess, grunter, mama, sister, our little burrito, little miss
*she loves to be moving....in the swing, being walked around, or having her bum patted
*she LOVES going on walks and we LOVE wearing her in the baby bjorn-it puts her to sleep every time!
*when she yawns she makes this loud noise at the end of it that makes me smile every time
*she makes lots of grunting noises, especially when she is swaddled before bed
*she is a little pistol when she is NOT happy
*she cries real tears now and it kills me when she does
*she has gotten smarter and will no longer be tricked into taking a pacifier

look at her little deltoid muscle!
she is pretty good at baring with me when I take her pics

but clearly in this picture she was letting me know she was DONE!

we are still using the snuzzler car seat insert in her swing to help support her from sinking in!

little miss is 3 weeks old!

she doesn't look very thrilled in this picture does she?

this waterfall is literally a 20 minute walk from our apt in San Fran

but she is happier in mom's arms after eating!

first time meeting Vaughn!

Happy Valentine's Day! she slept the day away!

We have some catching up to do! Maya at 2 weeks old!

Maya's 2 weeks old stats:
weighing:8 pounds 9 ounces
measuring:  20 1/4 inches long and
 head circumference 36 3/4 cm
And...now that she is back up to and past her birth weight we no longer have to wake her up at least every 3 hours to eat!
we call her our little lumber jack in these pj's
how precious is this?!?! her daddy already coming her hair! if we don't comb/brush it down it will stick straight up! she is wearing her little butterfly dress that uncle kyle and Brandy bought for her, she definitely has plenty of room to grow in it!

tummy time, she was not a big fan but then found her thumb and did a little self soothing

she is liking her bath a lot better than she did when she was just one week old!
she even lets us pour the water on her scalp and down her face without fussing! she is destined to love the water as much as her mommy does! she still looks so tiny in her little bath tub in the kitchen sink!

semi smile from J here....this is Maya passed out after crying for daddy while I went to the grocery store...a good hour long fit she threw. this was probably the second time I had left to go somewhere with out her. The time before this I escaped to the mall for some Jenna shopping time that was VERY much needed after a few weeks of motherhood! :)

doesn't she just look so cute in her little tights? so delicate in her dad's arms

getting ready to head to the beach! Maya is all bundled up! with leggings and shoes!

Ocean Beach in San Francisco....we loved taking her and walking on the beach as a family! I can't wait until she can really enjoy it, making sand castles, finding sea shells, wading in the water!

she looks so much bigger in this outfit now...crazy what one more pound looks like!

our almost daily walk in Golden Gate Park with Maya all bundled in her bjorn, J wears her facing out and I wear her facing in

only 5 minutes into the walk and she is already passed out....
